Lalu claims support of 43 MLAs

New Delhi, Sep 13 (UNI) Claiming support of 43 MLAs in the 82-member Jharkhand Assembly, RJD Supremo Lalu Prasad today said the Arjun Munda Government should be dismissed and the UPA be asked to form a government in the state.

Mr Prasad paraded 37 of the 43 MLAS whose support he was claiming before the media at his official residence here. He said the remaining six members would be reaching Ranchi today.

Party sources said the 37 MLAs were being flown to Ranchi by a special plane.

The 37 MLAS who were being flown to Ranchi by a special plane belonged to Congress (9), RJD (7), United Gomantak Democratic Party (2), Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (17), Forward Bloc (1) and CPI-ML (1).

Jharkhand plunged into a political crisis after four ministers quit the Arjun Munda-led government on September five and withdrew support to it reducing it to a minority.

However, sources close to the ruling alliance in the state, here said one MLA of the United Gomantak Democratic Party and five RJD MLAs were in touch with them.

'US tries to contact N Korea on nuclear issue'
