It is up to party leadership, say Ministers

Hyderabad, Sep 13 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Ministers M Satyanarayana Rao and Md Ali Shabeer today left it to the party leadership to decide on their resignation from the Cabinet.

Talking to newspersons here, Mr Rao said he submitted his resignation letter to Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and it was for him and the party high command to take a decision.

Meanwhile, Mr Shabeer said he had quit without any hesitation, accepting a challenge from the TRS. It was for the party leadership to decide on it, he added.

Mr Shabeer, who was elected from Kamareddy Assembly Constituency, maintained it was upto Senior TRS leader A Narendra to respond to his challenge to resign his Medak Lok Sabha seat and contest against him.

The war of words intensified between the Congress and TRS, after TRS Chief K Chandrasekara Rao challenged all Congress MPs and MLAs to put in their papers and seek a fresh mandate.

He maintained Mr Satyanarayana Rao, who had lost his deposit during the previous poll, had won the 2004 elections only because of TRS support.
