Hindustan Oil gets operatorship of oil block

New Delhi, Sept 13: Hindustan Oil Exploration Company (HOEC) today said the government has approved the transfer of operatorship of an oil block from Premier Oil North East India BV to the company.

''The Directorate General of Hydrocarbons, Government of India, has approved the assignment of Participating Interest (PI) from Premier Oil North East India BV to the company thereby enhancing its PI from 25 per cent to 40.323 per cent,'' a company statement said.

HOEC was the first private company in India to enter into field of oil and gas exploration. The company has participating interest in eight oil/gas fields in India, Cambay basin, Cauvery basin and Assam Arrakan basin, which are in varying stages of exploration, development and production.

Indian flight to Dubai diverted on security fears

New Delhi, Sep 13 (UNI) Aviation authorities in the United Arab Emirates diverted a Dubai-bound Indian (Airlines) flight to a military air base due to security and safety concerns. Officials today said the flight from Mumbai was due to land at Dubai airport late last night. As a precautionary measure, the aircraft, passengers and luggage were searched. Oppn parties should not polticise Chikungunya: PT leader

Chennai, Sep 13 (UNI) Puthiya Tamizhagam (PT) founder-president Dr K Krishnaswamy today said the opposition parties in Tamil Nadu should not polticise the 'Chikungunya' issue. Talking to newspersons here, he criticised the proposed statewide demonstrations to be orgainsed by the AIADMK, and other parties on September 16 against the state government's failure to contain Chikungunya. Instead of wasting energy and money for organising the unwanted demonstrations, the parties should conduct special medical camps.....
