HC directs installation of techno-security within two weeks

Mumbai, Sep 13 (UNI) The Bombay High Court today directed the state government to install within two weeks, the appropriate number of closed-circuit televisions and procure the required x-ray baggage scanners within its premises for tightening the security of the premises.

A division bench comprising Justices R M Lodha and S A Bobde today also directed the Registrar to take stock of the security measures implemented at the Nagpur, Goa and Aurangabad High Courts and submit his report within two weeks.

The court has asked petitioner Gurucharan Singh, President of Security Guards Association, to join the Bombay Bar Council and the Advocates Association of Western India and file an affidavit submitting the additional security measures like gate-passes for entry in the court.

The court was hearing a public interest litigation filed after the serial bomb blasts seeking higher security measures as any one could walk in and out of the court without any check of what was being carried into the premises.

Lightning kills 4, injures 2 in West Vidarbha

Akola/ Aurangabad, Sep 13 (UNI) Four persons, including a couple, were killed and two others were injured due to lightning here yesterday, police said. The deceased couple were identified as Rameshwar Onkar Ombarkar (40) and Sunanda (35), residents of village Kherda Bhagai under Pinjar police station here. Bhopal, Sep 13 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Governor Balram Jakhar today stressed the need for respecting the human right of other people in order to understand its importance. NABARD to allot Rs 427.70 cr to TN under RIDF

Chennai, Sep 13 (UNI) The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) will allot Rs 427.70 crore to Tamil Nadu for the current year under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF), as against the total allocation of Rs 10,000 crore. Talking to newspersons here today, NABARD's Chief General Manager K V Raghavalu said the bank had already sanctioned Rs 301 crore. He said in 2005-06, out of Rs 8,000 crore corpus, the state's share.....
