Gang of auto lifters busted

New Delhi, Sep 13 (UNI) Police today claimed to have busted a gang of auto lifters with the arrest of three people.

Naveen (22), the kingpin of the gang, Nitin (20) and Anuj were arrested yesterday, by the sleuths of the crime branch.

Police recovered a stolen luxury car and a .315 bore country made pistol with two live cartridges.

During interrogation they confessed that they were involved in the theft of cars.

Empty shells recovered

Fatehgarh Sahib, Sep 13 (UNI) A large quantity of empty shells and bullets were recovered from Shanti Nagar area of Mandi Gobindgarh in the district. Police said that some children, while playing near minor distributory this morning noticed large quantity of shells lying near a field. Youth proved guilty for murder but escapes with fine

New Delhi, Sep 13 (UNI) A youth who stabbed his cousin to death three years ago was today fined Rs one lakh by a city court which ruled that Rs 50000 of the fine amount would go to the victim's family. Additional sessions judge Rajiv Mehra today imposed a fine of Rs one lakh on 23-year-old Gunjan Paliwal who had, on February 14, 2003, stabbed his cousin sister Anju Sharma at her home in Rajender.....
