CEAT launches 'gen next' truck tyre

Chennai, Sep 13 (UNI) CEAT, one of India's leading tyre manufacturing companies, today launched "Mile XL" touted to be the next generation truck tyre for the Indian roads.

After an extensive study and analysis of demand for high speed and cooler running tyres, the company designed this "tallest" truck tyre to give better mileage to truck owners, CEAT General Manager, Marketing, Rajiv Jain told newsmen here.

The tyre was test launched two years ago. After it successfully completed the "test phase," it was commercially launched today, he said adding the tyre, priced at Rs 12,500, would have a lifespan of six to 18 months.

CEAT enjoyed a market share of 18 per cent in the truck tyre segment and the introduction of the new model was expected to enhance this figure.

Taking note of the fundamental changes in Indian transportation sector, CEAT had drawn up expansion plans and proposed to roll out couple of other products.

It was already working on an expansion plan in the passenger radial segment.

"It is at the preliminary stage...we are looking at technology from other sources and planning to build our internal capability," he said.

Marico debuts in Egypt hair-care market

Mumbai, Sept 13 (UNI) Marico Group today announced its entry into the Rs 170 crore (USD 38 Million) hair-care market in Egypt through the brand Fiancee, hitherto owned by the Egypt-based Ready Group. Announcing this, Marico's press release said the Fiancee range includes value-for-money hair creams and hair gels. Fiancee is a market leader and commands a share of about 20 per cent of the Egyptian Pound 215 million hair care market......

Sunil Hi-Tech bags orders worth Rs 42.46 cr from MAHADISCOM

Mumbai, Sep 13 (UNI) Sunil Hi-Tech has secured two contracts from Maharashtra Distribution Company (MAHADISCOM), aggregating Rs 42.46 crore. A Sunil Hi-Tech release said the first MAHADISCOM contract, worth Rs 24.75 crore, is for design, testing, supply, transport, construction, erection, testing and commissioning of the 22/11 KV 2X10 MVA substation at three complexes in Mumbai, under the infrastructure work plan: the Raheja Garden at Thane, Eternity Complex also at Thane and Film City.....

Rupee gains 10 p, closes at Rs 46.18/19

Mumbai, Sep 13: Rupee today grew strong by ten paise to close up at Rs 46.18/19 per US dollar as compared to Rs 46.27/28 per USD on Tuesday as crude oil prices weakened globally, giving hopes to counter inflation, a trader in the money market said. Earlier, the domestic currency opened at Rs 46.26/27 per USD and during the mid-morning session traded at 46.32/33 per USD.RBI today fixed the reference rate at Rs 46.22 per USD as.....
