Balsara merger with Dabur India complete

New Delhi, Sept 13: The High Courts of Delhi and Mumbai today approved the merger of the three Balsara companies with Dabur India Limited.

With the completion of this merger, Dabur India expects to become the number three player in the oral care business.

The three Balsara group entities namely Balsara Hygiene Products Ltd, Balsara Home Products Ltd and Besta Cosmetics Ltd will be merged with Dabur India on the filing of the High Court order with the registrar of companies.

The order is expected at the end of this month mark and will the completion of the formal process of merging the legal entities of companies with Dabur India.

Post the acquisition last year, operations of Balsara had been integrated with Dabur India ltd, which ensured a smooth turnaround of these companies in the very first year of the merger.

Dabur India post acquisition turned around Balsara (with the companies) registering a turnover of Rs 167 crore and the net profit of Rs 14 crore from a turnover of Rs 120 crore and net loss of Rs 36 crore in 2004-05.

Balsara Group manufactures and markets its products in India and aborad. The group is managed, with manufacturing, sales, distribution and administrative facilities located throughout India, in addition to its international operations.

Three-member panel to go into harassment of SC/ST students

New Delhi, Sep 13 (UNI) A three-member committee headed by UGC Chairman Prof Sukhadeo Thorat was constituted today to go into the complaints of alleged harassment of SC/ST students in AIIMS. UN Council condemns rising terrorism incidents in Afghanistan

United Nations, Sep 13 (UNI) Members of the Security Council have lent their collective voice to a growing chorus of UN officials condemning rising terrorist violence in Afghanistan. "The members of the Security Council condemned in the strongest terms, the recent suicide bombings in Kabul and other parts of Afghanistan, including the one on 10 September that killed Abdul Hakim Tanaiwal, the Governor of Paktia province," Security Council President Adamantios Vassilakis of Greece said.....

India and Brazil to hold strategic dialogue

Brasilia, Sept 13: India and Brazil have decided to initiate a strategic dialogue on issues of mutual concern, encompassing energy security and the international security situation, including the menace of terrorism, while announcing a series of steps aimed at upgrading their political and economic ties to the level of a ''strategic partnership''.This strategic dialogue will be conducted by National Security Adviser M K Narayanan on the Indian side and his Brazilian counterpart.According to a joint communique issued.....
