Ashes of 1050 people immersed in Sangam

Allahabad, Sep 13 (UNI) The ashes of 1050 people, which were brought from the famous city of Cuttack in Orissa were immersed in Sangam, the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and mythical Saraswati with rituals here today.

The urn containing the ashes of 1050 persons were brought by a team of social workers from Cuttack in Orissa.The team first performed Ganga 'pujan' and later immersed the ashes in the holy river Ganga.

Team's leader, Sharat Kumar said, a unique crematorium has been established on the bank of the river Kathjhhodi in Khan Nagar of Cuttack city, which is popularly known as 'Swarg Dham', where besides the cremation work, other social welfare works are also done.

He added that at the 'Muktipeeth', 2,000 persons can sit. Besides, there is an arrangement of 'swarg rath', which brings dead bodies from the periphery of 150 kms.

Govt to review execution of schemes for disabled, SCs, OBCs tomorrow

Naxalite menace affects BJP membership campaign

Patthalgaon, Sep 13 (UNI) Apart from disturbing normal life and obstructing development, naxalite menace has affected BJP membership campaign in Chhattisgarh. ''Membership campaign in three districts of Bastar region could not be completed owing to naxalite problem. As a result, BJP organisational polls had been postponed,'' State BJP President and MP Vishnu Dev Sai told UNI.
