16 hurt in jail riot

Ujjain, MP, Sep 13 (UNI) Sixteen inmates have been injured in a riot at a sub-jail at this district's Khachrod.

One of the victims of yesterday's clash was admitted last night to the government hospital here and was stated to be out of danger.

Intermittent disputes were going on for several days between the persons accused of murdering Nagda Industrial Area's Congress leader Dileep Sharma versus a rival group.

''Inmate Arun Nair was hospitalised. Prison authorities took immediate action and prevented the situation from worsening.

Criminal cases were registered against five inmates from each group,'' said Central Jail, Bhairavgarh, Superintendent Mansharam Patel.

MacGill fears knee injurns will affect Ashes preparations
