Kumaraswamy to attend in CMs Conference on internal security

Bangalore, Sep 2 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumarasway will be attending the Conference of Chief Ministers to discuss issues pertaining to internal security, to be chaired by Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh in New Delhi on September Five.

According to a communication issued from Chief Minister's Secretariate, Mr Kumaraswamy would be leaving for New Delhi on September Four.

The Chief Minister, during his stay, would also meet some Union Ministers to discuss the pending projects of the State.

Bangalore, Sept 2 (UNI) Rural Electrification Corporation Executive Director Vidya Sagar today said that 17 power rural electrification projects had been sanctioned at a cost of Rs 612 crore under the Rajiv Gandhi Rural Electrification Yojana (RGREY)for the state. Mr Sagar addresssing a Media Workshop on Bharat Nirman -Rural Electrification and Power Sector Reforms here toay said that the Centre had already released Rs 84 crore of the total funds for the 17 electrification projects.....

Nine killed in road accident in Chitradurga District

Chitradurga, Sep 02 (UNI) Nine people were killed including seven women, and two injured seriously, all from Maharashtra, when a van in which they were travelling collided head-on against a truck near Begalarahatti in Chitradurga district this morning. The police sources said the mishap occurred when a vehicle which was on the way to Shirdi after visiting pilgrimage places in Karnataka.
