Bangalore, Aug 28: Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today laid the foundation stone for the Rs 23 crore grade separator project at the junction of the newly constructed Bangalore-Mysore four-lane State highway near Kengeri here.

The proposed grade separator, scheduled to be completed within 15 months, would facilitate unhindered traffic flow in the 140-km stretch between this IT city and the city of palaces and reduce accident rates. One of the main features of the grade separator was that one of the four ramps would not have any support at the centre of the road, but would be stayed by cable support.

The Chief Minister had to leave the place before taking his seat in the specially erected dais following heavy downpour.
