Jungle Raj in Bihar : Lalu

Patna, Aug 26 (UNI) Lambasting the NDA government for its failure to improve the law and order situation in the state and spurt in crimes against the downtrodden section of the society, RJD president Lalu Prasad today described the prevailing scenario in Bihar as 'Jungle Raj'.

Talking to reporters here, the Railway Minister alleged that crime against women and the oppressed section continued unabated and the state government had failed to protect the life and dignity of the underpriveleged.

On the 'mass rape' in Lakhisarai and killing of four Dalits in Bhojpur, he said the state government did not take action against the criminals involved the these incidents.

When asked about the police team sent to Delhi for arresting RJD MP Sadhu Yadav, Mr Prasad said the state government was acting with political vendetta, which was not a good indication for democracy.

Mr Prasad said his party and Lok Janshakati Party (LJP) would continue to raise their voice for justice to 'mass rape victims' of Lakhisarai and Dalits who had become victims of crimes, allegedly committed by those having patronage of the ruling party.

Centre to introduce uniform medical insurance scheme: FM

Madurai, Aug 26 (UNI) The Centre is contemplating to introduce a nation-wide uniform medical insurance scheme by roping in both the public and private healthcare sectors to make medical facilities available to all sections of the society, Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram said. Arrest order for Syrian suspect in German bomb plot

BERLIN, Aug 26 (Reuters) German authorities issued an arrest warrant today for a Syrian suspect in a failed plot to detonate bombs on German trains last month. A spokesman for the Federal Prosecutors Office said a Syrian man taken into temporary custody yesterday in the city of Konstanz was questioned by a custodial judge for several hours before the warrant was issued.
