Journalist killed in car accident

Lucknow, Aug 25 (UNI) Journalist B C Tiwari today died in a car accident in Bara Banki district here.

Sources said Tiwari (57), who worked as a part-time journalist for UNI in Rae Bareli, was seriously injured in a car accident near Rudauli village of the neighbouring Bara Banki district. He was rushed to a hopspital here, where doctors declared him brought dead.

His son, Amit, a local Congress leader in Rae Bareli was also critically injured in the accident.

Tiwari, who had been a lecturer of English in a Rae Bareli college, had a long association with UNI.

LOS ANGELES, Aug 25 (Reuters) Former U.S. President Gerald Ford underwent an angioplasty procedure at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, to increase blood flow through two coronary arteries, his spokeswoman said today.
