Enam to venture into insurance broking

Mumbai, Aug 21 (UNI) Leading financial services consultancy firm Enam Financials Consultants Pvt Ltd has ventured into insurance broking business through Enam Insurance Broker Pvt Ltd.

The new firm will offer insurance products to corporates and individuals in the life insurance and the non-life insurance segments, said a company release. The IndusInd bank has already announced that it was also interested in the insurance brokering sector and that it was waiting for a nod from the regulator in this connection.

Talking about the new venture of his company, Enam's chairman Vallabh Bhanshali, said,''It is a step in the direction towards one stop financial supermarket providing a wide array of financial products to its customers''.

The concept of insurance broking was introduced in the country in 2002 and is still in a nascent stage.

The director of Enam Insurance Broker Pvt Ltd, Dr Sandeep Dadia on the marketing strategy of his company said,''The new company will gradually expand the scope of services across the country by utilising the group's existing network of offices/agents and tapping cross-selling possibilities''.

BJP tells Govt to supply free hand-fans, lanterns to public

No objection to sale of Maruti share: Deb

New Delhi, Aug 21: Heavy Industries Minister Santosh Mohan Deb today said his ministry had no objection to the sale of the government's remaining 10.27 per cent stake in Maruti Udyog Ltd.''I have no reservation to the sale of remaining share in Maruti. I have already informed this to the finance minister,'' Mr Deb told a press conference.The Minister said he preferred to sell the shares to banks.The procedure of sale, he said, will be decided.....

DIG (Rail) files anticipatory bail petition

Hajipur, Aug 21 (UNI) An anticipatory bail petition was filed by DIG (Rail) Ajay Verma here after an arrest warrant was issued against him by a local court for misusing his position. Mr Verma's counsel, Justice P K Jha filed the bail petition in the district and sessions court of Vaishali, which will be heard on August 23. After filing the petition, the DIG's wife, Sampat Verma alleged that the Muzaffarpur IG Suneet Kumar had threatened.....
