PCC demands cancellation of NCERT book

Kolkata, Aug 19 (UNI) West Bengal Congress today demanded cancellation of NCERT's publication of history book, where national heroes were identified as terrorists.

''We have sent a letter to Human Resource Development Minister Arjun Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi for intervention to cancel the book of the NCERT and to take necessary action against the anthor who has defamed and undermined the country's national heroes, '' PCC general secretary Manas Bhuiya told newspersons.

In the history book, published by NCERT for school education in the Central schools, freedom fighters Khudiram Bose, Rashbehari Bose, Arobindo Ghosh, Bipin Chandra Pal, Bal Gangadhar Tilak and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, who sacrified their lives to make India free from the British, were unfortunately idenfitied as terrorists, he said.

Congress demands clarification on land dealing
