Team India safe, no pullout, security beefed up: BCCI Secy

Chennai, Aug 18 (UNI) BCCI today played down security threat in Sri Lanka and said all the Indian team members were safe and there was no chance of pulling out from the tri-series following the bomb blast in colombo.

Talking to UNI, Board Secretary Niranjan Shah said he spoke to the Team Manager about the bomb blast that rocked Colombo, a couple of kilometres from the hotel where the team was staying.

''The players are safe and the security has been beefed up.

The team management also contacted the Indian High Commission.'' ''All are safe in their hotel and there is nothing to worry''.

Asked whether the BCCI would consider pulling out the team from the tri-series, in which South Africa is the third team, Mr Niranjan Shah said ''No''.

Mr Shah is in the city in connection with the two-day BCCI Working committee meeting to be held here from tomorrow.

Israeli army kills Hizbollah man in Lebanon-reports

JERUSALEM, Aug 14 (Reuters) Israeli troops shot dead a Hizbollah fighter in Lebanon today after he opened fire on them, marking the first casualty since a ceasefire went into effect, local media reported. Army Radio and the Haaretz newspaper's Web site said the shooting took place in southwest Lebanon. A military spokesman said the man was among a group of ''armed terrorists'' who approached the army position, but he declined to say whether the gunman had.....

Cuba publishes pictures of Castro and Chavez

Olmert to face Israeli parliament after ceasefire
