TDP man hacked to death

Vijayawada, Aug 14 (UNI) A Telugu Desam Party (TDP) worker was hacked to death allegedly by Congress activists at Mokkapet of Vatsavai Mandal in Krishna District this evening.

Talking to UNI here, Krishna District Superintendent of Police M K Singh said the Sita Reddy had a dispute with his own brother, Pulla Reddy who belonged to the Congress.

Mr Singh said while Sita Reddy, who was in the Congress earlier switched to the TDP, his brother joined the Congress from the TDP.

When Sita Reddy was returning to Mokkapet from Penuganchiprolu on his motorcycle, four people, allegedly belonging to the Pulla Reddy Group, waylaid and hacked him to death with sickles.

Sita Reddy died on the spot.

The SP said it was clearly a factionalist murder. Police officials have rushed to the spot.

Situation was reported to be tense at Mokkapet following the murder.

Bhandara, Gondia faced with flood threat

Mumbai, Aug 14 (UNI) The heightened fury of the rains since August 5 has left 330 people dead in the State while 24 others are still reported missing.
