SW monsoon vigorous in MP and Saurashtra

Pune, Aug 14 (UNI) The South West monsoon has been vigorous over Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra and Kutch and active in Vidarbha and Kerala.

It has been subdued over Bihar, West Uttar Pradesh and Rayalseema.

Heavy to very heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat State and Konkan and Goa. Heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in Orissa, Chattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra, coastal Karnataka and Kerala.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at many places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, coastal Andhra Pradesh, interior Karnataka, Lakshadweep and at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, East Rajasthan, Telangana, Rayalseema and at isolated places in West Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu.

Exceptionally heavy rains have occurred at most places in West Madhya Pradesh.

Heavy to very rains have occurred at many places in Madhya Maharashtra. Heavy rains have occurred at most places in Saurashtra and Kutch and Konkan and Goa. Very light rains have occurred at isolated places in Bihar, Gujarat region, Telangana and Rayalseema.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Marathwada.
