Sexual abuse charge against BDO

Siwan, Aug 14 (UNI) Ram Vilas Chaudhary, Block Development Officer (BDO) of Goriyakothi in Siwan district, is facing the charge of sexually exploiting a woman for 13 months on false assurance of providing her a government job and a dwelling unit under Indira Awas Yojna.

One Lalita Devi, today filed a complaint in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate alleging that Mr Chaudhary had sexually exploited her for the last 13 months after promising her a house and a government job.

BDO had asked her to work as 'domestic help' at his residence in lieu of the favour, she added.

She alleged that Mr Chaudhary continued to sexually abuse her when she used to prepare meals and do the other household menials at his residence. Frustrated with the treatment meted out to her and not getting either a house or a government job, she filed the complaint.

19 AR nabs two Kuki cadres in Imphal

Imphal, Aug 14 (UNI) The 19 Assam Rifles (AR) have apprehended two cadres of Kuki Liberation Army (KLA), the spokesperson of Assam Rifles said here today. Based on specific information about the move of KLA cadres, the 19 AR troops launched a search operation yesterday at Ukhrul district and nabbed a cadre. New postal scheme 'One India One Rate' launched

Chennai, Aug 14: Union Minister for Communications and Information Technology Dayanidhi Maran today launched a new 'One India One Rate' scheme on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Postal Department's speed post service.Under the scheme, comman rates have been devised for Speed Post for the entire country. A fee of Rs 25 would be charged for sending an article weighing 50 gram, throughout India and there would be no change in the existing local rates, he said after.....

Govt examining Hoda report on mineral policy review: Minister

New Delhi, Aug 14 (UNI) The Government today said it was examining the report of a Planning Commission committee headed by Anwarul Hoda, set up to review the National Mineral Policy and give a fillip to private investment in the mining sector.
