Rupee opens weak at Rs 46.55/56/USD

Mumbai, Aug 14: Indian currency today opened weak by five paise at Rs 46.55/56 per US Dollar compared to the previous close of Rs 46.51 per US Dollar, a trader in the money market said.

In the mid-morning trade, rupee was trading at Rs 46.54/55 per US Dollar.

The stock market however opened in the green by 29 points and is currently trading at 11,269.65 points which is 77.19 points more than the previous close.

Barnala's son remanded in 14-day judicial custody

Chandigarh, Aug 14 (UNI) A court here today remanded Tamil Nadu Governor Surjit Singh Barnala's son Gaganjit Singh, who is accused of raping his maid, in 14-day judicial custody. Judicial Magistrate Ist Class (JMIC) Atul Marya remanded the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) MLA when he was produced before him on the expiry of his one-day police custody. Barnala's supporters shouted slogans outside the court premises and demanded immediate withdrawal of the ''false case'' registered against.....

Jaipur, Aug 14 (UNI) Owner of the popular brand 'Saras' milk, Rajasthan Cooperative Dairy Federation (RCDF), has bagged an order from Singapore, for providing tetrapacks of milk and ghee.
