People cautioned against Money Circulation Schemes(MCS)

Hyderabad, Aug 14 (UNI) Concerned over the mushrooming Money Circulation Schemes, the Andhra Pradesh Police today urged the public not to fall a prey by enrolling themselves in Multi-level Marketing Companies and Money Circulation Schemes.

A major section of people from different walks of life had been cheated of crores of rupees by such companies which lured them to become rich overnight, the State Economics Wing police pointed out and urged the public to pass on information about such fly-by night companies to the nearest police station and Superintendent of police concerned.

Promoters of money circulation companies trapped middle class people, who were eager to become rich overnight by high profile campaign, Wing Superintendent of Police V C Sajjanar, said in a release here.

Such companies collapsed at some stage resulting in a big loss to those who joined their schemes at a later stage, he said.

In early ninties, money circulation schemes were floated for cash gains and slowly involved themselves in market goods, services, drugs and health care products and pressurising enrolled members to go for repeated buying of products, he added.

Schools closed in Asom due to severe heat

Guwahati, Aug 14 (UNI) Special summer vacations in educational institutions in Asom have been announced from August 17 to 23 in view of severe heat conditions prevailing in the state. State Education Minister Ripun Bora informed that all schools and colleges, except the universities and the engineering colleges, would remain closed for an additional seven days. Most schools and colleges, government as well as private-run, had reopened on August 1 after about a month-long summer.....

Rains ease in Gujarat, few villages still cut off

Ahmedabad, Aug 14 (UNI) Even as rains eased in Central Gujarat, relief operations are on in few villages of Anand and Kheda districts that have remained cut-off due to water-logging. At least 59 rain-related deaths have been reported in the region, that has faced floods thrice since July 26. Three persons including two sisters died yesterday in Kheda, taking the total number of deaths to 19. The sisters - Arpita, eight, and Jagruti,four, - slipped.....

Maoists join hands against the US

Gaya, Aug 14 (UNI) Maoist insurgents of India and Nepal have joined hands against ''American interference'' in the internal affairs of countries, specially in South Asia, according to a Maoists release here. Despite elaborate security arrangements and high alert on the eve of Independence day, the Maoists distributed a press release in the sensitive Gaya district announcing their joint strategy against ''proletarian internationalism''.
