Mumbai Colts 272 for 9 vs Andhra in Buchi Babu tourney

Chennai, Aug 14 (UNI) A painstaking century by Bhavin Thakkar helped Mumbai Colts score 272 for nine in their first innings against Andhra Pradesh in the Mindteck All India Buchi Babu cricket tournament here today.

Bhavin was involved in two useful partnerships after Mumbai collapsed from 82 for no loss to 100 for four and was not out when the stumps were drawn for the day.

First, he added 80 for the fifth wicket in 26.1 overs with Aditya Dare (41) and 71 for the sixth wicket with Omkar Gurav (38) in 16.1 overs to lend respectability to the total.

Earlier, openers Sahul Kukreja (45) and Ashok Kadam (32) gave a fine start adding 82 in 30.5 overs before they lost their way as offspinner Y Venugopala Rao struck twice and medium pacer D Kalyan Kishore picked the first of his four wickets for Andhra.

Mumbai, Aug 14: Prices of gold declined by Rs 115 per ten gm and silver by Rs 185 per kg on bearish global advice, traders at the Bombay Bullion Association today said.Standard gold (99.5 purity) and pure gold (99.9 purity) prices opened weak at Rs 9,525 and Rs 9,565 per ten gm, respectively, on poor demand from jewellery makers.
