Kolkata experiencing a moderate weather.

Kolkata, Aug 14 (UNI) Cool and pleasant weather continued to please Kolkatans as the shadows of depression over the neighbouring state Orissa turned weak today.

The depression had moved towards Madhya Pradesh and hence brought few bouts of rainfall here in the last two days, Met officials said.

The city was lashed with moderate drizzles in the morning recording 3 mm, this had also slashed the mercury level with a maximum temperature of 31 degree Celsius and minimum of 25 degree Celsius, weathermen said.

The relative humidity remained the same at 96 per cent.

The Met Office had predicted moderate rains at many places in West Bengal in the next 24 hours as low pressure is agein expected to hit Orissa by tomorrow, Met officials said.

Forest dept. employees picket office seeking promotion

Woman coolie knocked down, another injured

Kancheepuram, Aug 14 (UNI) A woman was killed on the spot in a road accident, while another woman suffered serious injuries at Indira Nagar junction road in Madurantakam near here when a mini van kocked them down. Police said the mishap occurred when the victims, working as coolies, were walking by the roadside, last evening. The deceased woman was identified as Valliammal(35). Rail traffic badly affected in MP

Bhopal, Aug 14 (UNI) Rail traffic has been badly affected with heavy rains pounding the state capital and adjoining areas since last night and derailment of the Raptisagar Express' engine near Midghat station in Bhopal Division of the West Central Railway. About 22 trains were running two-five hours behind schedule due to the accident and waterlogging of railway tracks at the Bhopal-Bina division.
