Governor releases CD of patriotic songs

Gandhinagar, Aug 14 (UNI) Governor Nawal Kishore Sharma released a compilation of songs in a compact disc of a retired state government officer Premshankar Bhatt.

The CD titled 'Dil utaya je soor' (tunes from the heart) comprises songs sung by two famous singers Sri Soli and Nisha Kapadia.

The songs were compiled by Premshanker Bhatt between 1944 to 1951 when he was a young man. Gujarat high court judge Yadram Meena released the CD at a function held in the town hall, Gandhinagar today.

The sale proceeds from the CDs would go to the chief minister's relief fund, Mr Premshankar Bhat said. Mr Bhat donated Rs 21,000 to the CM's relief fund.

Justice Meena said that the songs would inspire the youth in their commitment to society and love for their motherland. This will also motivate youths to help the nation progress and instil the virtue of patriotism for their motherland, he added.

NIEPA New Deemed University

New Delhi, Aug 14 (UNI) The New Delhi-based National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration has been declared a Deemed to be University under the University Grants Commission Act 1956, it was announced today.
