Congress leader refutes TDP's charges

Hyderabad, Aug 14 (UNI) All India Congress Committee (AICC) Secretary P Sudhakara Reddy today refuted the Oppositon Telugu Desam Party (TDP) cahrge that the Andhra Pradesh Government had not responded immediately in providing relief to the flood victims.

Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan, the party office here, he alleged that the TDP, BJP and CPI(M) were making baseless allegations and systamatically politicising the flood situation despite the government's efforts in providing relief to the affected people.

He alleged that the TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu was misleading the people instead of cooperating with the government in carrying out rescue operations on humanitarian grounds.

The Congress government in the state had got Rs 400 crore for relief under Calamity Relief and Calamity Relief Contingency Funds. Neither the TDP nor any other government had got such assistance from the Centre, he pointed out.
