C Kesavan Award to Satheesh Kochuparambil

Kottayam, Aug 14 (UNI) Satheesh Kochuparambil has been selected for the C Kesavan Award instituted in memory of former Thirukochi Chief Minister C Kesavan.

The award consisting of a cash price of Rs 10,001, citation and memento would be presented at a function to be held here on August 19 by Union Minister Vayalar Ravi, Sree Narayana Samskarika Samithy Secretary P N Peethambaran said.

He was selected for the award taking into account his contribution to social and education sectors, he said.

Live bombs recovered from school in WB

Siliguri, Aug 14: Four live bombs were today recovered from a girls' school in Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal which led to the intensifying of the security system here on the eve of Independence Day. An anonymous call to Phalakhata police station said four powerful bombs were in the district and might be detonated on or before August 15. Patna, Aug 14 (UNI) The Bihar Congress today demanded sacking of Energy Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav as he had been declared 'absconder' by a court.
