Asian Games probables sent to Ukraine, Italy for exposure

New Delhi, Aug 14 (UNI) In a prelude to the preparations for the Asian Games, Athletics Federation of India (AFI) has sent 24 probables for a two-month long training-cum-exposure stint in Ukraine and Italy.

Five Jumpers have been sent to Italy while 19 athletes -- including 11 women in throws and track events -- have gone to Ukraine. The athletes will be back in the first week of October.

Athletes sent to Ukraine: Satbir Singh, Bhupindra Singh, S Srinivas, P Shankar, Sreejith P S, K M Binu, Anil Singh, Om Narain, Manjeet Kaur, S Geetha, Chitra Soman, Rajinder Kaur, P M Ashiq Beevi, H M Jyothi, Mandeep Kaur, J J Shobha, Seema Antil, Harwant Kaur and Krishna Punia.

Jumpers for Italy: Shamsher Singh, Shiv Shankar Yadav, Amarjit Singh, Mahan Singh and Renjith Maheswary.

India to invest $1 bn in Ivory Coast mining

Rupee weakens by 10 paise closes at 46.62/63/USD

Mumbai, Aug 14: Indian rupee today weakened by 10 paise to close at 46.62/63 per US dollar, as compared to the previous close of 46.53 per USD, a trader in the money market said. Rupee earlier opened at 46.55/56 per US dollar and in the mid-morning session traded at 46.54/55/USD.RBI today fixed the reference rate at Rs 46.56/US dollar, as compared to the previous rate of 46.52 per US dollar.The six-month forward premia was fixed low.....

Power situation remains grim, 600 MW loadshedding in Delhi

New Delhi, Aug 14 (UNI) Despite the Capital recieving a burst of heavy showers this morning, the power woes of people of Delhi continued today with 600 MW of loadshedding in various parts of the capital owing to the power shortage.
