Block Samiti member among 5 arrested with fake currency notes

Kapurthala, July 30 (UNI) Police today arrested five persons including Sultanpurlodhi Block Samiti member Mohinder Pal Singh on the charge of printing counterfeit currency notes and recovered 3,800 such fake notes from their possession.

According to Senior Superintendent of Police Rajiv Ahir, the accused have been identified as Narinder Pal Singh of Ludhiana, Kamal Kishore, Harpreet Singh, Dimple and Mohinder Pal Singh, all residents of Sultanpurlodhi.

The SSP said the accused were printing counterfeit currency for the past seven to eight months.

A case was registered against all the accused and further investigations are on.
