30-year-old woman commits suicide

New Delhi, July 20 (UNI) A 30-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in Kirti Nagar area of West Delhi.

Shalu, mother of two, was found hanging yesterday from the ceiling of her Mansarovar Garden residence in Kirti Nagar, according to the police.

No suicide note has been found.

Her husband Sanjeev, who works in a travel agency in Bangalore and summoned by the police, denied any rift between them.

Shalu's parents also denied any foul play.

The body was sent for post mortem.

Three arrested for kidnapping 3 minors

New Delhi, July 20 (UNI) Three persons have been arrested for allegedly kidnapping three minor girls from Nand Nagri and Seelampur area of North-East Delhi. The accused had kidnapped three girls, between 10-16 years of age on July 17, according to the police. New Delhi, July 20 (UNI) Police today claimed to have arrested five Bangladeshis planning to commit dacoity at a jewellery shop in Vasant Kunj area of South-West Delhi. The accused, aged between 19-27 years, were arrested from the DDA Park in Vasant Kunj yesterday evening, according to the police. A revolver, a country-made pistol and tool for breaking locks were recovered from them. During day time they would work as rag pickers and survey the area.....

Schools must adhere to modified norms for dyslexic children: HC

Mumbai, July 20 (UNI) The Bomay High Court today directed all schools in the State to implement the modifications introduced by the State's Education Board for students with learning disabilities. A division bench comprising justices R M Lodha and N H Patil, while directing the schools to implement the same, said non-implementation would be tantamount to disobedience of the court and would invite action. Vincy D'silva, a resident here, had filed a public interest litigation.....

NCP state leader shot at from close range in Gujarat

Rajkot, July 20 (UNI) Two unidentified assailants shot at Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Gujarat unit vice president Gaterabhai Prabhubhai Patel from a close range at his residence at Limdi, a taluka town about 100 km from here, last night. Police said the assailants had apparently rang the door bell and fired gun shots at Mr Patel as he opened the door. However, the assailants fled in a scooter. Mr Patel (age 58) was first taken.....

Panic spreads after cutting Holy tree

Gaya, Jul 20 (UNI) Spread here after news spread about the cutting of a branch of the old Mahabodhi tree under which Lord Buddha attained enlightenment at Bodhgaya. The local administration and the temple management committee were taken aback when they found that a branch of the tree was cut off illegally.
