Nagas to pursue area integration

Kohima, Jul 18: Naga Hoho, the apex body of all the Naga tribes, has resolved to pursue the integration of Naga areas and said the issue is not negotiable whatever may be the nature and terms of negotiation in the on-going Indo-Naga peace talks.Naga Hoho General Secretary Neingulo Krome told newsmen that this was resolved in their "Federal Assembly" meeting last Friday.He further said the house recommended extension of the period of cease-fire to facilitate the peace negotiations......

Azad announce Rs one crore for Gujjar and Bakerwal in J and K

Srinagar, July 18 (UNI) Announcing Rs one crore for renovation of Gujjar and Bakderwal hostel buildings in the state, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad said all possible measures would be taken for speedy socio-economic development of these communities. Gujjars, Bakarwals and other such communities have so far remained backward, and the government has decided to take all measures for their upliftment, Mr Azad said while chairing meeting of the State Advisory Board.....

Govt seeks US aid to protect deer

Bhopal, July 18: The Madhya Pradesh government is considering to seek financial assistance from an American NGO ''Safari Club International'' for the protection of Barahsinga (swamp deer) found in Kanha National Park, Forest Minister Himmat Kothari told the Assembly today.The population of Barahsinga, a protected animal, at the Kanha National Park is about 324 at present, he told Mr Gajraj Singh Sikarwar in a written reply. The antelope specie is found in Uttar Pradesh and Assam also, he said......
