Telgi demands better medical facilities

Pune, July 18 (UNI) Prime accused in the multi-crore fake stamp paper scam, Abdul Karim Telgi who was admitted to a government run Sassoon Hospital yesterday has demanded better medical facilities, including admission in a private hospital.

Telgi's lawyer Milind Pawar told UNI that Telgi was admitted after he vomited blood yesterday and is presently undergoing several tests. Telgi has demanded that the Government meet his entire medical expenses at a private hospital as he was unhappy with the facilities at Sassoon Hospital, Pawar informed.

Telgi was also admitted last month for the same problem. He is suffering from diabetes, blood pressure and is HIV positive.

Four big cats dead

Ranchi, July 18 (UNI) Four big cats, including a white tiger, died in the last ten days at Birsa Munda Wildlife park located in the state capital. State Chief Wildlife Warden A K Singh told UNI that the tigers died because of Bebesiosis, a protozoa-borne disease. Mr Singh said a high level meeting was called to discusss the matter. He also termed the disease to be a natural calamity and refused to take any action against.....

Simplex bags AAI orders

New Delhi, July 18 (UNI) Simplex Infrastructures today bagged orders worth Rs 1103.70 million from Airports Authority of India for construction of new international terminal buildings at Jaipur and Udaipur. Execution of Udaipur airport job is in progress. While the Jaipur terminal is worth Rs 637.30 million, the Udaipur terminal is worth Rs 466.40 million. Simplex Group of Industries is one of the major Indian manufacturers and exporters of different engineering products, castings and equipment.....

Hexaware posts 53% increase in Q2FY07 net profit

New Delhi, July 18 (UNI) Hexaware Technologies Ltd today posted a 53 per cent increase in its net profit at Rs 20.8 crore for the second quarter ended June 30, 2006, as against Rs 15.14 crore for the corresponding period last year. The company's board has declared an interim dividend of 2.95 per cent per annum on Preference Shares, and 40 per cent (Re 0.80 per share) on equity shares of Rs 2 for the six.....
