TDP has no right to hold agitation against price rise: Cong

Hyderabad, July 18 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) today demanded the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) withdraw its decision of organising agitation on July 20 in protest against the price rise of essential commodities.

Speaking to newsmen here, APCC Spokesperson N Tulsi Reddy pointed out the prices of essential commodities had been lower during the Congress Government compared to previous TDP regime.

The opposition party should analyse the prices of essential commodities comparing them with those during the TDP rule.

Alleging the TDP was politicising the issue without knowing the fact the government had taken necessary steps to control the prices of pulses, he observed UPA Chairperson and AICC President Sonia Gandhi had reviewed the issue with the Chief Ministers of Congress ruling states and directed them to control the prices.
