Tailors Association reps meet CM

Hyderabad, July 18 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today stated that a meeting would be convened soon with the Minister for BC Welfare and the representatives of Tailors Association to study the problems faced by those in the profession.

He gave this assurance to a 15-member delegation of the Andhra pradesh Tailors Association led by AP State Health and Medical Infrastructure Corporation Limited Chairman G Rudra Raju, which called on the Chief Minister at his chambers this afternoon.

Association President A A Narasimha Murthy urged the Chief Minister to constitute a board for the welfare of those engaged in tailoring profession as was being done in the neighbouring Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra.

Mr Murthy requested Dr Reddy to make efforts to open readymade garments workshop in Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Kurnool for providing employment for tailors.

He also urged the Chief Minister to issue white ration cards to eligible poor tailors and old age pensions to the members of association.

The members of the delegation said they held great hopes in the government's initiatives and had full confidence in the Chief Minister, an official release said here.
