Sisters don't worry; Water-proof envelopes to send rakhis

Mumbai, July 18 (UNI) Sisters posting 'rakhi' to their dear brothers will now not have to worry about their 'bond of love' getting damaged on way, as the Indian Postal department is launching water-proof and tear-proof envelopes, especially for them.

The postal department, in collaboration with multinational company DuPont, has come up with these unique water-proof and tear-proof envelopes so that the sisters do not face much problems while posting 'rakhi' to their brothers.

Sources told UNI here today that for this, the postal department has taken help of DuPont's chemical technology - Tyvek, which not only makes the paper envelope resistant against any damage by water and wear-and-tear, but also generates an option of printing them in vibrant and attractive colours, in keeping up with the festive and joyous spirit of 'Raksha Bandhan'.

The department is slated to launch these envelopes later this month, so that the sisters can send 'rakhis' to their brothers in-time for the festival to be celebrated all over the country on August nine.

Incidentally, women used to face lot of difficulties in sending rakhis by post to their brothers, as they complained envelopes getting wet and also tearing-off, thus, damaging their ''priceless'' token of affection.

However, with the latest innovation, the postal department plans to resolve these problems and ensure safe delivery of rakhis at their destination, sources added.
