Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib could return for third test

LONDON, July 17 (Reuters) Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar could return for the third test against England at Headingley in Leeds, coach Bob Woolmer today said.

Shoaib, who took 17 wickets in his team's 2-0 victory over England in Pakistan last year, arrives in England tomorrow following treatment on his injured ankle.

Pakistan drew the first in a four-test series with England at Lord's today.

''We would like to think he's in line for Headingley but there is still plenty of work for him to do,'' Woolmer told a news conference. ''It will depend on how he comes through the next 10 to 15 days.'' Pakistan took the field at Lord's without three first choice pace bowlers, including Shoaib and Mohammad Asif who has returned home for treatment on an elbow injury.
