Netam blames security lapse for Errabor carnage

Raipur, July 18 (UNI) Chhattisgarh Home Minister Ram Vichar Netam today alleged that security personnel failed to perform their duty when naxals stormed Errabor relief camp, killing 33 people and injuring scores in the yesterday morning.

''Those stationed at Errabor were busy saving themselves and did not care for the safety of the camp's denizens,'' he told journalists after returning from Bastar.

Mr Netam was accompanied by DGP Om Prakash Rathor.

''Many lives could have been saved,'' the minister said, adding, ''We have taken it very seriously. The government will take firm steps to prevent recurrence.'' UNI JJ AC MIR HT2128
