Modi announces Rs 50-lakh grant for each of 31 new municipalities

Gandhinagar, July 18 (UNI) Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today announced Rs 50 lakh special grant for each of the 31 newly constituted municipalities in the state.

Addressing office-bearers of 172 municipalities in the State at a function here, he also announced the provision of a well-equipped ambulance, a mobile ICU of sorts, for 116 civic bodies, as part of disaster management.

Mr Modi suggested each civic body prepare a directory of veteran citizens, engineers, doctors and other professionals, besides immigrants, to utilise their expertise in the town's developments works.

Pondicherry, July 18 (UNI) The Mahe Residents Forum today thanked Health Minister E Valsaraj for obtaining 17 MBBS seats in private medical colleges here for the students from Mahe region.
