Israel refuses to rule out major Lebanon invasion

JERUSALEM, July 18 (Reuters) Israel's army today refused to rule out a massive ground invasion of Lebanon as part of an offensive to force Hizbollah guerrillas to free two Israeli soldiers and stop firing rockets at the Jewish state.

''The army has many possibilities for action,'' Moshe Kaplinsky, Israel's deputy army chief, told Israel Radio when asked if the military would rule out a massive land incursion.

''At this stage we do not think we have to activate massive ground forces into Lebanon but if we have to do this, we will.

Chennai, Jul 18: Police have arrested three persons, including a village Panchayat President on the charge of circulating fake currencies of Rs 100 denomination at suburban Uthukkottai.According to police, one Sundar went to a petrol bunk yesterday.After fillng the petrol in the two-wheeler, he gave Rs 100 to a bunk employee. Suspecting the currency to be fake, they informed the police, who rushed there and arrested Sundar.Based on his information, police arrested Nagaraj, President of Perandur.....

Two killed in bus-lorry collision, 41 hurt

Kozhikode, July 18 (UNI) Two persons were killed and 41 injured, three of them seriously, when a mini lorry collided with a bus in the district early today. The accident occurred when the private bus coming from Kanniparamba collided with the fish laden mini lorry at Cheroopa around 0830 hrs. Police identified the deceased as Ali and Mayin, who were in the lorry. The injured were taken to the Kozhikode Medical College Hospital, police added. UNI PCH DKB.....

Woman killed by Metro train

New Delhi, July 18 (UNI) A woman was killed at Chandni Chowk Metro underground station this morning when she 'jumped' onto the track and was hit by a train.
