IPCL reports 29% jump in profit at Rs 291 crore for Q1

New Delhi, July 18 (UNI) Indian Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd (IPCL) today reported a 29 per cent increase in it's net profit at Rs 291 crore for the quarter ended June, 2006, as against Rs 225 for the corresponding period last year.

The turnover of the company for the period stood at Rs 2,756 crore, up 22 per cent from Rs 2,266 last year.

The total paid up equity share capital stood at Rs 249 crore.

Domestic sales of products manufactured by IPCL increased by 22 per cent to Rs 1,959 crore and accounted for 81 per cent of the net turnover, while exports of products for the quarter increased by 15 per cent to Rs 419 crore from Rs 366 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

New Delhi, July 18 (UNI) The Delhi police have solved a case related to the July 16 murder of a woman in East Delhi with the arrest of the woman's husband. The North East District police have arrested 40-year-old Salauddin, a resident of Shastri Park, for the murder of his 35-year-old wife Mammo after she opposed her husband's decision to sell off their house to overcome his debts.
