Haryana ministers rap Bhajan Lal's son

Chandigarh, July 18 (UNI) Senior cabinet ministers of the Congress government in Haryana today denounced the statements made by party MP Kuldeep Singh Bishnoi, son of former state president Bhajan Lal, against Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and the government.

Mr Bishnoi had on Sunday described the Chief Minister as incompetent and called for a meeting of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) to assess the performance of the government.

''The statement of Mr Kuldeep Singh Bishnoi, which appeared in a section of the press, is expression of immaturity and is being guided by the vested political considerations,'' said a joint statement signed by Finance Minister Birender Singh, Health Minister Kartar Devi, Excise and Taxation Minister Venod Sharma, Agriculture Minister H S Chatha and Education Minister Phool Chand Mullana.

His ''act of raising a finger'' at the decisions of the cabinet, which were collectively taken in the interest of the progress and development of the state, showed his frustration for not getting desired political posts, the Ministers alleged.

''He is misleading the people for his political gains. This government is committed for progress and development of the state.

Numerous steps have been taken by the government in this direction.

Those who are raising a finger at the government must look into their own deeds,'' the statement said.

Mr Hooda had already hit back on the Bhajan Lal camp on the issue, saying there were some people in the party who could not ''digest'' the accelerated pace of development in the state.

''There are some people who have made a forced entry into the Congress and now they are not able to digest the accelerated pace of development in the state,'' Mr Hooda said yesterday, Apart from the political opponents of the Congress in the state, there were some people within the party too who were not ''able to digest the rapid pace of development,'' the Chief Minister said.
