Ford launches Fiesta Diesel EXi in Andhra Pradesh

Hyderabad, Jul 18: Ford India has launched its premium mid size segment car "Fiesta Diesel Exi" in Andhra Pradesh.

Announcing the launch here, Ford India Vice President-Marketing ,Sales and Service Scott Mc Cormack said as leader in the premium mid size car market in Andhra Pradesh with about 34 per cent market share, the addition of Fiesta Diesel EXi to its portfolio would allow the company to extend its lead in the premium diesel car market in the state and across the country.

"With a robust portfolio, the company leads the premium mid size segment in 17 top markets in the country, where it presently has three models each of its petrol and diesel variants", he said.

Mr Cormack said with the launch of Fiesta in the country the company had strategically introduced its proprietary Turbo Direct Common Rail injection (TDCi) technology in India.

In the period of January to June 2006, Ford India registered an overall growth of 91 per cent. The Company sold 23,758 cars, out of which 20,000 were Fiesta model.

In Andhra Pradesh, the Company sold 3340 units in the first half of 2006 compared to 1445 cars in 2005.

"In June 2006 the growth was 137 per cent in AP", he added.

HDFC Q1 net up 20 per cent to Rs 296.82 crore

Mumbai, Jul 18: The Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd (HDFC) has posted a net profit of Rs 296.82 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006 as compared to Rs 247.28 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2005, an increase of 20.03 per cent, company sources said today.Announcing the results, the company's total income has increased from Rs 934.76 crore in Q1 of FY 2005-06 to Rs 1,248.53 crore in Q1 of FY 2006-07.UNI.....
