Dharmasthala receives 10 cm of rain

Bangalore, July 18 (UNI) Follwoing is a summary of observations recorded by the weather office at 0830 hours today.

Monsoon was weak over North Interior Karnataka.

Rainfall occurred at most places over Coastal Karnataka; at a few places over South Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over North Interior Karnataka.

Heavy Rainfall amounts(cm): Dharmasthala 10; Nilkund, Agumbe 7 each. Other chief rainfall amounts (cm): Bhagamandala, Somwarpet, Sakleshpura 6 each; Kollur, Kadra, Siddapura, Yellapura, Napoklu, Hosanagar, Sringeri.5 each; Khanapur Thirthahalli, Mudigere, Kammardi 4 each; Bantwal, Sulya, Subramanya Virajpet, Linganamakki, Talaguppa Kalasa, Jayapura, Koppa 3 each.

Forecast valid until Thrusday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at most places over Coastal Karnataka; at a few places over South Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over North Interior Karnataka.

Farmers Weather Bulletin: Moderate to heavy rain likely to occur at most places over all districts of Coastal Karnataka. Light to moderate rain likely to occur at many places over Shimoga, Chikmagalur and Kodagu districts of South Interior Karnataka; at a few places over Belgaum, Haveri, Dharwad districts of North Interior Karnataka&Hassan district of South Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over remaining districts of North Interior Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka.

Heavy Rainfall Warning: Heavy rain may occur at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka during next 24 hours.

Local forecast for Bangalore city: Generally cloudy. One or two spells of light rain.

Murder suspect's house set on fire

Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, Jul 18 (UNI) The house of a prime suspect in the murder of three Telugu Desam Party (TDP) activists was set on fire at Garishanapally village in Bathula mandal today. Four big cats dead

Ranchi, July 18 (UNI) Four big cats, including a white tiger, died in the last ten days at Birsa Munda Wildlife park located in the state capital.
