Cop arrested on gambling charge

Bellary, Karnataka, July 18 (UNI) Police arrested eight people, including a police constable, on the charge of gambling and recovered stake money from them, in Car street here today.

Police said that during a raid on a lodge, they found Anti-Dacoit Squad Constable Suresh and seven others gambling and effected the arrest.

District Additional Superintendent of Police C Rajappa said he would write to the Anti-Dacoity Squad in Bangalore to initiate punitive action against Suresh for his irresponsible behaviour.

SC sets limits for itself

New Delhi, July 18 (UNI) The Supreme Court has ruled that the Constitution does not permit the court to interfere with any administrative action provided the authorities do not transgress their constitutional limits or statutory powers.
