Cadence launches 'Technology on Tour'

Bangalore, July 18 (UNI) Global electronic design innovator Cadence Design Systems today launched its annual developer conference 'Technology on Tour' in Bangalore, Hyderabad and New Delhi, providing valuable insights on electronic design challenges to India's growing semiconductor industry.

Delivering the keynote address on 'Challenges and Opportunities with Systems-driven Design' here, company Corporate Vice-President (Market Development) Aurangzeb Khan said Cadence offered functional verification platform which removed risks of uncertanity that innovators of electronic design process face. Based on the broadest range of proven technologies and lowest risk application of languages and methodologies, it helped to ensure the development of a product, which met the desired specifications of the customers, reached the market on time and boosted productivity.

He said India had emerged a major market in consumption of semiconductors and Cadence was looking forward to continuing and deepening its ties with the country. The company's Indian arm, Cadence Design Systems (I) Pvt Ltd had 900 employees on its rolls and it had become fully independent in its functioning and had made good strides in development and maintenance of the company's products.

OBC quota: 'Opening more IIMs, increasing intake is the way'

FSO trapped in Visakhapatnam

Hyderabad, Jul 18 (UNI) The sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today trapped Munwar Ahmed, a Forest Section Officer (FSO), Anakapalle Range, when he demanded and accepted bribe of Rs 2,000. He took the bribe at his residence from the complainant KUVS Satyanarayana of Anakapalle, a timber merchant, as illegal gratification for issuing ''Transit Permit'' for the transport of Teak Fuel wood. Dismissal justified in pilferage by employee: SC

New Delhi, Jul 18 (UNI) Misappropriation or pilferage of amount by an employee amounts to misconduct and the penalty of dismissal from service was fully justified irrespective of the amount involved, the supreme court has ruled.
