Breath analysers to be set up in Hyderabad ; official

Hyderabad, Jul 18 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Transport Commissioner Ajay Mishra today said that 40 'breath analysers' would be installed to identify motorists who were driving after consuming alcohoal.

Speaking at a function organised by the Transport department here he said the department was taking all possible steps to reduce accidents due to overspeeding in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.

He said cameras would be set up at main junctions to study the behaviour of motorists. Six mobile cameras would be used to identify the motorists who violate traffic rules.

The department would also conduct raod safety awareness programmes to educate the people about traffic rules in the city, he said.

Terrorism, energy security concerns addressed at G-8: PM

New Delhi, July 18 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who arrived here today from St Petersburg after attending the G-8 Summit, described his visit as successful which ''addressed India's concerns on energy security and terrorism''. ''These two concerns were uppermost in my mind.... I am glad both these have received universal attention,'' Dr Singh told reporters on his arrival. Rahul Gandhi likely to be inducted in AICC

New Delhi, July 18(UNI) Amethi MP Rahul Gandhi may be assigned some responsibility in the party in a minor shake up of the All India Congress Committee(AICC) likely to take place shortly. Mr Gandhi, the son of Congress President Sonia Gandhi, may, in all probability, be given charge of the Congress frontal oranisations as AICC General Secretary or, alternatively, could be made in charge of Uttar Pradesh in view of the approaching Assembly elections.....
