4,650 nominations filed for panchayat polls in Chittoor

Chittoor , July 17 (UNI) As many as 3,673 nominations were filed for sarpanch while 7,370 for ward members on the third day today for filing of nomination for panchayat polls, scheduled to be held in three phases from July 29 in this district.

With this 4,650 candidates have filed their nominations for 1333 village sarpanch posts while 8848 nominations were received for 12,662 ward member posts in the district, according to official sources.

The nomination process, which began on July 15 will be completed on July 19 while withdrawals will accepted on July 23.

Space shuttle ends successful mission in Florida
