MCX index closes at 2293.79 down 0.24 pts

Mumbai, July 8 (UNI) Multi-Commodity Exchange (MCX) recorded a turnover of Rs 500.05 crore at the close of trading hour today.

The index closed at 2293.79 down by 0.24 points (-0.01 per cent).

The total trades registered were 13,945.

The MCX metal index closed at 2475.49 down by 4.52 points (-0.18 per cent), while MCX energy index closed at 2821.90 down by 4.90 points (-0.17 per cent) and MCX agri index closed at 1583.98 up by 8.7- (0.55 per cent).

The combined MCX bullion registered a turnover of Rs 162.09 crore, including various MCX gold Rs 113.97 crore and MCX silver Rs 48.12 crore. The total trades recorded for the MCX bullion were 28,522 kgs. The open interest for gold was 8,107 kg, while the outstanding position for silver was 1,83,175 kg.

In the metals segment, MCX copper registered a turnover of Rs 25.11 crore with 6,98,000 trades, while zinc recorded a turnover of Rs 4.51 crore with 285 trades, respectively.

In the energy segment, crude oil contracts showed a turnover of Rs 16.88 crore with open interest of 3,17,100 BBL.

MCX Gold Aug 06 closed at Rs 9,475 down by Rs 16 (-0.17 per cent), while Oct closed at Rs 9,616 down by Rs 18 (-0.19 per cent) and Dec closed at Rs 9,748 down by Rs 2 (-0.02 per cent).

MCX Silver Sept 06 closed at Rs 17,608 down by Rs 39 (-0.22 per cent), Dec closed at Rs 18,035 down by Rs 19 (-0.11 per cent).

JKMPCL sells 98,305 litres of milk in Delhi

Srinagar, July 9 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Milk Producers Cooperative Ltd (JKMPCL) sold 98,305 litres of milk in the national capital from Kashmir during 2005-06.
