Woman leader shot dead in Manipur

Imphal, Jun 28 (UNI) A woman leader of a local women's organisation of Wangoo in Thoubal district was found murdered today, police said.

Menaka Devi, Secretary of the local women's body, had been illegedly abducted by some unknown persons last night from Wangoo, police informed.

Police said the 30-year-old woman sustained bullet wounds on various parts of the body.

Police is probing into the matter.

Meanwhile, people of the area staged demonstrations protesting the incident.

Siliguri, Jun 28 (UNI) Four tribal girls are reportedly missing from Dhumchipara Tea Garden in Duars under Madarihat police station area. 150 kg ganja seized in AP

Visakhapatnam, June 28 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh police seized 150 kg of ganja worth Rs five lakh and arrested two persons at G K Veedhi mandal last night, police said today. Circle Inspector Praveen Kumar, talking to reporters today said Krishna Sahu and Ashok Kumar, hailing from Sambalpur district of Orissa, were held. The contraband was being smuggled to Chattisgarh. The police also impounded the car in which the narcotics were stacked in 23 gunny.....

Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, Jun 28 (UNI) The Excise Department today seized about 10,000 bottles of liquor from a truck near the house of ruling party MLA in Sattenapalli town in this district today.
