Wrong policies responsible for price rise

Shajapur, MP June 28: BJP General Secretary and MP Thawarchand Gehlot has blamed the UPA Government for the spiralling price rise in the country.

Mr Gehlot told UNI here the Centre hiked the price of petroleum products six times in a mere span of three years. The hike has led to an increase in transport fare besides indirectly affecting prices of necessary commodities.

The export-import policies of the Centre was also impractical.

He said the Centre had failed in finding a solution to check the menace of terrorism in the country.

The Centre had not been able to formulate programme for the benefit of labourers, farmers and youths so far, he alleged.

Lanka says rebels attack navy, 1 boat on fire

COLOMBO, June 28: Tamil Tiger rebels today attacked two small Sri Lankan navy vessels at sea around 100 miles north of the capital Colombo, setting one alight, the military said.Military sources said around 15 Tiger vessels were involved in the clash, the latest in a series many fear could rekindle civil war on the island.There were no details of any casualties, but communications were lost with one of the boats with an estimated seven people aboard.''Firing.....

Pakistan A squad named for Top End series

KARACHI, June 28 (Reuters) Pakistani selectors have named five test players in a 14-member A squad for the Top End series in Australia next month.
