SW monsoon active in Karnataka

Pune, June 19 (UNI) The South West monsoon has been active in South interior Karnataka.

In the regions where the SW monsoon is yet to set in, day temperatures were appreciably above normal in Tripura and in some parts of Orissa, East Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and were above normal in East Rajasthan. They were appreciably below normal in Haryana, Punjab, North Rajasthan and were below normal in Jammu and Kashmir.

They were normal over the rest of the country.

Heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a many places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and at few places in West Bengal and Sikkim, Orissa, Chattisgarh, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep and at isolated places in Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Gujarat State, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
